Privacy Policy
Transparency and complete user control are the founding pillars of My Wallet ("we", "our", or "us").
1. Overview & Core Philosophy
My Wallet is built on a local-first architecture. Your financial records—including transactions, debts, budgets, goals, and account balances—remain stored strictly on your local device. We do not operate proprietary tracking servers or sell your data to any third parties.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
A. Local Financial Information:
When you use My Wallet, you input financial entries (such as amounts, categories, account names, dates, and remarks). All this data is stored in an encrypted/sandboxed SQLite database on your physical device. We have no access to this information.
B. Google Authentication Information:
If you choose to use the "Continue with Google" feature, we collect your primary Google Account email address, basic profile name, and user identifier. This information is used solely to authenticate your identity and connect to your personal Google Drive for cloud backup. You may also use the application in "Guest / Offline Mode" without providing any Google credentials.
C. Google Drive Cloud Backup (Optional):
When enabled by you, My Wallet creates an encrypted backup file of your database and uploads it to your personal Google Drive account.
- Restricted Scope: We request only the
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.filescope. - No Access to Other Files: This permission strictly grants My Wallet access only to the files and folders created by My Wallet itself. The application cannot view, read, modify, or delete any of your other documents, photos, or files in Google Drive.
3. Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance
Limited Use Disclosure:
My Wallet's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the
Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not transfer or disclose your Google user data to third parties, advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers under any circumstances.
4. Data Storage and Security
We implement industry-standard cryptographic techniques to safeguard your records:
- Local Sandboxing: Data is isolated within the private sandbox provided by the Android operating system.
- Encrypted Backups: Cloud backup archives exported to Google Drive are encrypted using AES-256 before transmission.
- Secure Transmission: All communications with Google APIs are encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, monetize, trade, or share your financial records with any third parties or advertisers. We do not bundle third-party tracking or advertising SDKs.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your data is held on your own devices and Google Drive account, you retain total ownership and control over deletion:
- Local Data: You can delete all locally stored records at any time by clearing the application storage in Android Settings or uninstalling the app.
- Cloud Backups: You can delete your backup file anytime directly inside the app settings or by logging into your Google Drive and removing the app data backup.
7. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for or directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
